Hand vein identification is a relatively new method. It utilises the phenomenon that different types of tissues reflect light with different intensity. When taking a sample, the hand is illuminated with infrared light, and because blood absorbs more light than other tissues of the hand, a picture of the vein system can be drawn.

This trait of the body is asolutely unique and permanent. The method also measures the characteristics of the vein system itself, including but not limited to intersections and their degrees and the diametre of the veins.

An unquestionable advantage is that this technique ignores surface damages and contamination completely, and it is not necessary to touch the machine directly. It’s based on a highly universal attribute, making the technology almost impossible to decevie. Finger vein identification is based on the same principle.
